In black and white

The words in black and white have the most effect on my heart and mind.

Hebrews 11:24 [NIV]
By faith Moses, when he had grown up, refused to be known as the son of Pharaoh’s daughter.

Living by faith has shown itself to be no easy task, because we don’t always see results when we want to. Hence tempting us to live by what we see. I was tempted to deny my faith in a matter because of someone else’s belief. Not as it came to my beliefs in Christ. But as it came to me being purposeful with my life. Actually, I stand alone most of the time in this particular matter because like Moses, I have refused. Though I have known most of my life to do things a certain way, the words in black and white, and the words in Red, have transformed my mind. I can no longer live by the ways of the world. The ways that are particularly normal and accepted by many. My challenge to you today is to read the words in black and white, and the words in red, when even good meaning people try to sway you from what you are called to do.

Take heart friends.

without understanding

By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to a place he would later receive as an inheritance, and he went out without understanding where he was going. Hebrews 11:8 {NET}

My heart is so heavy. But it trusts in the God who sees around the corner; Who knows the details and wins every battle. My quiet time this morning helped me to understand that I don’t have to understand. I have been telling God, What you want me to do does not make any sense. How would these things work together?? All along He continues to confirm it, without providing full understanding. Except for one thing, His glory.

Truth is I don’t have to understand I just have to Obey. Can’t say that I am excited about not knowing. But I will obey by faith. And That obedience will make Jesus famous. And that is what I am excited about. Bringing His name fame. Moving forward knowing that obedience does not mean smooth sailings but victory.

Going the distance

thumb.phpSometimes we can have a moment of frustration even when we are we are supposed to be. That frustration can spur on the urge to quit. And the urge to quit can either lead you to actually quit at what you are doing or you can keep going. Naturally our mind tells us why we should not pursue this particular avenue any longer. But then the Holy Spirit speaks louder and says..GO THE DISTANCE! “Just because you had a bad day,does not mean you have to give into the desire to quit”

I have had too many lousy days to count when working on a painting, drawing, writing etc…. Some days, like today are no different. It may seem like a huge deal because it is the most recent, but give it some time; minutes, hours or a day or so. My point is,  go the distance, run the race despite the disappointments. My challenge to you today: Talk to God, embrace His word, vent to your best friend, get advice….and keep going!

Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us. Romans 5:2-5 {ESV}

Sweet surprises

The past week or so, I have had a constant reminder that nothing will ever cost God more than His Son. He will give freely what is His to who is His. I’ve met with contentment and agreed to treat it nicely. Yet I’ve met with surprises, all undeserving.

God will do anything He thinks is best to meet with you, to show you that You are His, to treat you as the jewel You are to Him. He goes above and beyond to show us His love. In some seasons, His love looks different, but its always there. In this season, God is showing me that giving to me represents His unending passion to provide for me. He is Jehovah Jireh (Provider), He is faithful and He cannot deny Himself.

My challenge to you today is ask God to reveal His love in the season you are in.
